First I added up all the numbers of days in each month and got 365 days in the whole year then I multiplied it by three and got 1095 milliliters of water to keep my cactus alive for a year.
My name is Rachel and I am working on the Summer Learning Journey blogging programme. It is wonderful to see that you have joined us this year. Welcome to the team!
I can see that you were able to put your problem solving skills to good use with this maths question and figure out that the cactus will need 1095 mls of water to stay alive for an entire year. It's quite amazing to think that a cactus only needs about a litre of water over the course of a full year. That is less than one standard sized jug of milk!
I often think that it would be a good idea to have cacti in my home as I wouldn't have to worry about watering them, however, they don't often flower so they are not the most bright and beautiful of plants. Perhaps I will buy a couple of them for my office and continue to purchase flowering plants for my house!
Speaking of flowering plants, the Pohutukawa trees are in full bloom here in Auckland. Are they blooming in your neighbourhood as well? I hope so! The red flowers are really stunning!
Wishing you and your family a lovely week. I hope that you are able to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature. I'm planning to get outside later this afternoon for a nice walk in the bush.
